One of my favorite comedians and snl cast member gets to take over my favorite talk-show host's tv show!!!!

Jimmy Fallon to take over for Conan O'Brien in '09

Jimmy Fallon, as previously reported, will take over for Conan O'Brien when the red-headed comedian makes his long-planned move into Jay Leno's seat at The Tonight Show. NBC made the deal official at a press conference today with Fallon and exec producer Lorne Michaels. Further details were in short supply, from Fallon's contract length and salary ("I keep asking Lorne, and he keeps telling me not to worry about it," Fallon cracked) to show specifics and the key question of when the transition will take place. "Sometime in '09," hedged Michaels, who'll produce both O'Brien's and Fallon's shows. "Probably the first six months. Maybe the second six."

Why so cagey about the exact date? The net's still negotiating to keep Leno in the family and avoid having late-night's most-successful host be most-successful at another net. Co-chairman of NBC Entertainment Ben Silverman told EW.com that doing so could involve primetime, cable, syndication, or some combination thereof. "We love Jay and want to keep him around," Silverman reiterated.

Fallon, meanwhile, promised to make his "the best show for everyone to fall asleep during" and said he's been doing standup lately to get into practice. "We're not going to reinvent the wheel," he said of the show's format. "But when Conan took over for Letterman, he wasn't Letterman. Oh, and all the furniture will be suspended six feet in the air."

THIS IS GOING TO BE AWESOME...I'll be able to sit on my couch for 2 hours straight, EVERY NIGHT!! and on thursdays, with Lost and the Office..thats like 4 hours..omg people get me a LIFE!

We go back there in dreams (another poem by me)

late night rythms of voices
we never ran out of conversation
as we inflict small doses of adulthood onto eachother
the room grows more silent

eyes on everyone
waiting for the slip-up
all the while wishing we could go back
to real freedom
before we knew it all, we had everything
everything we really needed

it happens in dreams still
and it gives me hope for the future
but those moments are far to rare these days

the laughter, the bright eyes,
the tastes and flavors.
the anticipation, the first-times
the delight and tingle of fear

we craved to become this
and we want it all back
because we let it go to soon
because we couldnt read the time
until it was too late

it was a great ocassion
we didn't expect to much
we loved just to love
we didn't have to hide or show off
the balance was in the air
and the future was wide open
and our eyes could see for ever
our mouths said new things in hopeful voices
our minds moved all the time
time was nothing

we go back there in dreams

The New Death Cab single is 8 minutes long.

The new death cab single is 8 minutes long. They are one of my favorite bands, and even I was skeptical about the song being so long..I mean, in the age of the Ipod, who is going to stay on this song for more than 2 minutes before skipping to another track? It's the same loop over and over.

But I've listened to it about 4 times, I'll admit I was bored a little the first few times but then you realize...it is therapy.

It stands apart from the fast-paced music of pop radio but is still very catchy. The song builds on itself and if you actually listen to it while driving or alone or something, you get a better sense of what i'm talking about. It puts you in a groove and snaps you out of it just at the right time. And with so much crap floating everywhere (pretty much everyone makes music now), I am glad that Death Cab made a point of not producing more white noise...and it's good to be different sometimes.

Oh, and don't forget thier album comes out a week from tuesday, Here's the Video:

2 new poems i wrote

rubber stamps
papers fly by
engines start
someone breaks a heart

and I sit
in this state
is it hate?
no
is it fate?
and I wait to find out
the path I was supposed to take after the chance was
gone

A bicycle rides along
cities crumble from war
mochas are ordered, light on the cream please
an ocean envelops an island

and I still feel stuck
3,000 pounds staring at clouds
like, why can't humans fly?
greater expectations than I should have?
to high?

my aim is off?

another Nobel peace prize is given out
will man conquer mortality before
I am gone?
so I can buy enough time to finally
become?

become me?
or become what I think I see in me?
or just
me

Is that the wrong way to phrase that?
"just me?"
maybe they are the same
the best things in life are free
so am I the worst because I don't feel
free

Items are returned
Top Raman is cooked
presidents elected
and the same sun rises
and my eyes search for
new surprises

--------------------------------------------------------------------
A window on an ocean
just the waves
a view of you
you wave, your hair
it waves

wind blows and that door opens again
a wish coming true
these things never happen to me
a door always closes

you smile
I pick it apart
make the jokes
you search for my heart
I search your eyes
looking for your ocean
is it fear I see
that's what I usually see

under the skin
maybe it's all me I see
putting it on you
you don't deserve that
if it's true

like the waves
you say goodbye with the moon
a well-spent day
tv, food
and everything we wanted to say

still in
the air

I have to leave to let it clear
remembering your hair
eyes, it never actually leaves
never easy
