crazy night...its a school night here. I just watched United 93. that movie really got my heart pumping. it was very sad and very frightening, especially knowing that it is true. I just pictured myself in those situations, on the plane, in a command center, in a air traffic control tower, in the world trade center. what a shock. your life is over suddenly. you have to give up...well they didnt quite give up on that plane but it was quite an effort.
But what got me most was the clash of cultures. both cultures thinking they are doing the right thing, doing it for God....who is right...we're all right. This movie really illustrated some points. The coldness of beurocracy and how the system stops us from really getting anything done. the great age of technology we live in that complicates everything while making it all more conveinent. but the big thing is, we're all the same humans, trying to survive here on this planet. We are all doing what we think is best for ourselves, our family, our town, our state, our nation, our culture. But what about our world??
Our generation is the generation that better make room for everyone because we have grown up with access to the most information out of any generation before us, it's our responsibility to use it wisely. We can see all perspectives more clearly now. Its time for more sympathy.
That movie made me very sad and a started doing a song right after it. Just feeling what it was about inside me....and i got something a like a lot, something more artistic than the pop music i usually go for.
But the creepiest thing was after I had arranged the track on a one-take dj arrangement..i left it a lone (fixed 2 minor issues) but then decided to put a radiohead vocal track on top of it that i got from their remix website..thinking, hmm i wonder if its in the same key...
Not only was it in the same key, it fit perfect to the song..it freaked the hell out of me. the vocals were all on beat, they got more expressive when my song did...it was all pretty magical. So at least now I have a remix I'm proud of for one of my favorite bands ever. And i can enter it into the contest.
Man what a weird night.
goodnight.
